I was born and raised in central Kansas, the youngest of four. Growing up, I was super active at a young age, from riding my bike or rollerblading everywhere to later on, playing volleyball, basketball and softball. This continued on into college at The University of Kansas where I joined several intramural teams and even walked on to the women's rowing team.
After college, I fluctuated up and down between random workouts and healthy eating here and there, while trying to find that balance between work, life and fitness. Eventually, my love of fitness opened the door to the world of running with 5k races, mud runs including a Tough Mudder, 10k races and now half marathons.
Solely working out and doing runs was great, but I also wanted to help turn my passion of helping others and my love of fitness into a career. This led me to pursue personal training.
After obtaining my certification, I started doing one-on-one training part-time, while working full-time in the corporate world and also taking on my most recent personal challenge of competing in the figure division of bodybuilding. Just this last year, a new gym came to Kansas City that gave me more experience with group training and graced me with the opportunity to have a full-time job in fitness, leaving the corporate world behind.
My awesome fitness journey in life is ongoing and has blessed me with the opportunity to help people be the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves. Now, not only do I get to continue to do that, but I now get to work with the awesome team that is BarNone Training!
